1. When an item of equipment is created, the inventory level of the equipment is automatically incremented by one.
2. Inventory control is affected if the equipment is lent out.

Equipment rentals affect the inventory balance. When equipment is rented out, the inventory is reduced by the quantity rented. When an equipment is returned, the inventory is increased by the quantity actually returned.
The "Inventory control" tab in the equipment overview displays rental records for all equipment.
