The dongle
The dongle has three ports:
- A power port marked with a lightning bolt.
- + 3.: Two RJ45 ports; one labeled RS232, and one labeled ETH.
Most Of the RS232 and ETH ports you only use one. Most of our customers use the RS232 and not ETH.
The cable connected to RS232 is connected directly to the PC:s com port 1 or 2 (sometimes called A or B). (ETH is used to connect the terminal to the local network. This use is uncommon.)
At ÖoBsome, the cable must be connected in 'RS232 (on the left in picture), NOT '''ETH!: If it is incorrectly in ETH, the terminal will e.g. to say "waiting for ECR" connection after boot.

Especially the power cord as it does not have a locking mechanism that RJ45 has.
How to safely break the connection between the dongle and the pay terminal
To more easily restart the terminal and/or disconnect the terminal from the computer, you may break the connection on the cord between the pay terminal and the dongle.
If you follow the cord from the pay terminal, after around 20 centimeters from the terminal you find this square formed connection, which you can open by putting your fingerlail under the ledge and pressing up:
The pins in the connection can be damaged and bent if not done correctly, so try to put it together as straight as possible.
