Client Ping Program

In order to determine if the client program and environment have been setup correctly, one can use the program 'EGU.PartnerPortal.FacilityTaskExchange.Client.Demo'.

The program is designed to ping the interface that is exposed by the Billing Server when it is running.

How to use the program

Config file

In the root folder, find the file named Config.paw and open it in notepad or notepad++.
Inside the file please provide the following three pieces of data:

• Endpoint address
  This is the address that PartnerPortal Api is supposed to communicate to.
  You can find it by looking in the configuration file for SonWin Server Installation Management Electricity Server under the tag named SoapBaseAddress.
  (OBS remember to add /installationmanagementprojectsoapservice to the end of the url)
• Username
  The username credentials that are used for connecting to the interface. Those can also be found in the configuration file under the tag named 'ToInstBlanketUsername'
• Password
  The password credentials that are used for connecting to the interface. Those can also be found in the configuration file under the tag named 'ToInstBlanketPassword'

After having entered the information save the file and close the application.

The program

After opening the exe file, the following window will appear:

In the window, one can see the information coming from the configuration file.
Double check that the information is correct and press the button labeled 'PING'.

The following window will appear:

Do the following:

• Put some text into the 'input' field
• Hit the button labelled 'invoke'

The above example shows that communication to the SonWIn client and the environment worked as expected.
In the message we will see:

• Date and time of the received response
• The username that was used
• The message returned from SonWIn

Errors:

If the program does not receive a message like the one above, one or more things could be wrong.
