Competence requirements are a predefined set of competence types that an employee must have in order to perform or hold a specific position or function.
One example is the role of Health and Safety Manager. To qualify as a Health and Safety Manager, competence in the following areas is required: Emergency Response Management Course, Health and Safety Representative Training, HSE for Managers, Work Environment (40 hours), Work Permits and Job Analysis, and Civil Engineering.
1. Competence requirements are defined for employees in the employee module. Select the employee in the Options column and click Select in the Enter competence requirements field.
2. Select the competence requirement that specifies the qualifications necessary for the role and click OK.
3. Click OK when prompted to specify the competence requirement for the selected employee.
Info: Competence requirements are configured in the control panel.
The competence types that are defined for the requirement are created as planned competences for the employee. The competences are created in the competence module, and each employee's competences can be accessed under the competence tab on the employee. Planned competences that are created by setting a requirement have no dates. Edit the competence to mark it as valid and enter a From and To date if applicable. If the competence is planned, a planned From date can be entered in the From Date field.
