You must have Space management role in EG Optimaze to add, edit and delete capacity objects in floor plans.

Capacity objects represent work desks, rooms or spaces in the workplace. You need to add capacity objects before installing Occupancy sensors.

Changes done to capacity objects in EG Optimaze might appear a few minutes later in EG Worksense. If the changes are not seen see instructions here

Adding new capacity objects

  1. Log in to EG Optimaze
  2. Navigate to EG Optimaze Space application
  3. Select a floor plan
  4. Click Edit and click Capacity objects...
  5. Select one or multiple capacity objects from the floor plan
  6. Make any changes to the capacity object's settings
  7. Click update 1 capacity object / update X capacity objects
    1. X is the number of capacity objects you have selected

  1. Click End or Delete

    1. End means that a capacity object will keep its history in the floor plan

    2. Delete means that a capacity object will delete all of its history

  2. Notice. Deleting capacity objects will also delete any sensors attached to the objects

Making a capacity object bookable

  1. Log in to EG Optimaze
  2. Navigate to EG Optimaze Space application
  3. Select a floor plan
  4. Click Edit and click Capacity objects...
  5. Select one or multiple capacity objects from the floor plan
  6. Tick the box Can be reserved
    1. For external bookings, add email address
    2. For internal bookings e.g. workstations, leave email address empty
  7. Click update 1 capacity object / update X capacity objects
    1. X is the number of capacity objects you have selected

Adding email address to a capacity object

  1. Log in to EG Optimaze
  2. Navigate to EG Optimaze Space application
  3. Select a floor plan
  4. Click Edit and click Capacity objects...
  5. Select one capacity objects from the floor plan
  6. Tick the box Can be reserved
  7. Add email address
  8. Click update 1 capacity object

Editing capacity object's usable capacity / Adding out of use capacity object

If you want to show some workstations or rooms as out of use in EG Worksense,you need to set the capacity object's usable capacity to 0.

  1. Log in to EG Optimaze
  2. Navigate to EG Optimaze Space application
  3. Check that Capacity object type has usable capacity has been enabled for the Capacity object main type, instructions here
  4. Go to Floors tab and select a floor
  5. Select one or multiple capacity objects

  6. Set usable capacity to 0

  7. Click update 1 capacity object / update X capacity objects
    1. X is the number of capacity objects you have selected

Tips and notes on setting out of use workstations or rooms:

  1. When you want to reopen a workstation or room, increase the available capacity to the value 1

  2. You can give a date when your modifications will apply to your selected capacity objects

    1. If you know in advance when workstations are reopened or the available capacity of a meeting rooms returns to normal, you can make these changes in advance.

  3. Usable capacity cannot be larger than the object’s capacity

  4. Usable capacity cannot be negative

  5. Usable capacity does not affect installing occupancy sensors to capacity objects with EG Inventory

  6. No occupancy status or booking information is shown in EG Worksense for ‘Out of use’ capacity objects
