The validity of lease is either Until further notice or Fixed term.
Rent will be charged in full also for the first month, even if the agreement is not valid for the whole month. If the agreement comes into force in the middle of the month and you want to invoice half of the monthly rent, for example, apply Rent scaling. If the agreement ends in the middle of the month, you must make a credit note.
Lease agreement valid until further notice
For an agreement valid until further notice, the period of notice may be freely agreed upon between the lessor and tenant.
Alternatively, you can use the periods of notice specified in the Act on Commercial Leases or the Act on Residential Leases.
Lease agreement valid for a fixed term
If the lease agreement is valid for a fixed term, remember to determine the end date.
