Adding time delay

Time delay means the duration how long a sensor-monitored place (e.g. meeting room, workstation, parking spot) is shown as recently occupied in EG Worksense. Generally speaking the time delay gives a signal to an employee that the room or seat has recently been in use.

Time delay is set for a capacity object main type or its subtype.

  1. Click Edit.. next to main capacity object type or its subtype
  2. Add Time delay
  3. Click Save
  4. Time delay for a capacity object main type will automatically be applied to its subtypes

Info

Best practices for choosing the duration for time delays:

  • Workstations - We recommend to set up a time delay based on your company’s clean desk policy OR at least for the duration of lunch / a one-hour meeting

  • Meeting rooms - We recommend to set up a 5-10 minute time delay for meeting rooms to signal it has been recently used

  • Phone booths - Phone booths don’t necessarily need a time delay, they are generally meant for quick ad hoc use
