You must have a Space management role in EG Optimaze to manage capacity object types.
What are capacity object types
Capacity object types are used for categorizing capacity objects. Capacity objects represent the company's spatial resources such as workstations and meeting rooms. Together this information can be used in office analytics to view utilization of specific subset of resources, for example.
Capacity object types are connected to EG Worksense employee experience indirectly via the reporting type which is a property of capacity object type. Reporting type determines how the resources are displayed in EG Worksense. There are five different reporting types: workstation, meeting space, restaurant, parking space, phone booth. If reporting type is left empty, users can still see the capacity objects using that capacity object type but they will not be able to filter the floor plan based on that reporting type.
Editing capacity object types
Capacity object types are managed in EG Optimaze Space application.
Click Administration -tab and select Capacity object types
Click + next to the main type to edit its subtypes
Click Edit.. to make changes to main or subtypes
Adding reporting type for a capacity object type
You can specify reporting type only for main capacity object types, not subtypes.

Select a reporting type from the drop-down list
Select Meeting space as a reporting type, if you are using meeting room booking feature
Select Workstation as a reporting type, if you are usingworkstation booking feature
Select Phone booth as a reporting type for phone booths
Select Parking space as a reporting type, if you are using Parking info feature
Select Restaurant as a reporting type if you are using restaurant sensors
Click Save
Adding time delay for a capacity object type
Time delay means the duration how long a sensor-monitored place (e.g. meeting room, workstation, parking spot) is shown as recently occupied in EG Worksense. Generally speaking the time delay gives a signal to an employee that the room or seat has recently been in use.
Time delay is set for a capacity object main type or its subtype.
Click Edit.. next to main capacity object type or its subtype
Add Time delay
Click Save
Time delay for a capacity object main type will automatically be applied to its subtypes
Best practices for choosing the duration for time delays
Workstations - We recommend to set up a time delay based on your company’s clean desk policy OR at least for the duration of lunch / a one-hour meeting
Meeting rooms - We recommend to set up a 5-10 minute time delay for meeting rooms to signal it has been recently used
Phone booths - Phone booths don’t necessarily need a time delay, they are generally meant for quick ad hoc use
Enabling usable capacity for a capacity object type
If you want to show a capacity object out of use in EG Worksense, you need to first enable usable capacity for a main capacity object type. After this you can edit a capacity. object's usable capacity on a floor plan, instructions here.
